I have been working at Hollins University part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Office culture is nice, and even. The employees work well. Circulation training is interesting and fun. They're more than willing to fit themselves into your schedule.

    Cons

When I was training for circulation, the program to learn Library of Congress Catologing system was long and arduous. It barely kept my interest and sometimes the other supervisors don't even bother talking to you about their problems with you when its all over something that can be considered personal, rather than professional.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go a head and tell someone you're upset at them rather than going to their supervisor.

I worked at Hollins University part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

3 Classes offered free of charge after employed for a certain timeframe

    Cons

None of the staff got along, moral was horrible, hours where 24 hours and people called out almost every day/night and you had to be available to be called in. Pay was not worth what you had to deal with.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Discipline action for not showing up for shift and a policy regarding office gossip.
