Pros

Honeywell usually pays better then MOST of the companies that it competes against. Especially in the division that I was a part of, Building Controls.

Cons

Honeywell is known for frequent reorganizations so it can be a stressful place to work at times. Also the building division is dysfunctional because the don't actually staff every office with more then several people so when decisions need to be made someone from over one hour away has to make them.

Advice to Management

Actually staff your offices with people that can go talk to the customer. The regional management philsophy is a joke.

    Pros

Terrific group of people in Engineering, industry-leading products.

    Cons

During my 9 mo. contract there were three waves of layoffs. All manufacturing has moved to China. Facility is moving to office-only environment. Many challenges in dealing with manufacturing in China.

    Advice to Management

It's a brave new world, but when downsizing you need to consider talent and experience - not just function. I don't think management understands what they've lost.

I have been working at Honeywell as an intern

    Pros

I have really enjoyed my experience with the company. The engineers I have talked to seem to really enjoy their job and are excited for the future. New facility opening in 2013.

    Cons

Federal contractor which means lots of paperwork

    Advice to Management

    Haven't been there long enough
