Pros

Challenging work with extremely intelligent people coupled with a great work life balance.

Cons

Enormous bureaucratic mess, many long-term dead-weight employees, daunting internal politics, excessive unnecessary processes, poor customer performance, heavy handed focus on axillary projects not directly related to primary jobs.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus less on pet projects.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay in the past. Nice co-workers

    Cons

No pay increases for the masses even tho executives continue to make big bonuses. Very unfriendly to woman - a true old-fashioned boys club. Top down decision making so there is little emphasis on bottom's up innovation and ownership. Every one I know is working HUGE hours since employees are leaving in droves (either due to jobs moving to low-cost countries or because of the bad atmosphere) and jobs cannot be filled. HR is completely ineffectual and invisible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop treating employees like a necessary evil who constantly need to have heavy handed top-down dictates about how to do things.

I worked at Honeywell full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

All the benefits for Honeywell International while working for a mid-size business. Direct charge employees get a loyal and supportive management team.

    Cons

Overhead employees are worked relentlessly and have no job security. Executives change every few years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Groom your executive team from the programs, diversify the business, and increase your planning horizon.
