I worked at Honeywell full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The commute for me is very short, so I do not need to fight traffic.
There a lot of work to be done , but the schedule is flexible.
And people in the office are quite relaxed and friendly.

    Cons

The management is very focused on getting employees to pay more for health insurance, so we pay more each year.
The management is looking at the top and bottom lines only, so there is not much passion among the mid-level managers, and they rotate in and out various business divisions.

Great Company with No Respect for Mid Level Managers

    Pros

Diversified company with good positions in great markets (as driven by CEO Dave Cote). Technology and Lean Tools are used everywhere. Getting traction in very exciting fields.

    Cons

Honeywell is doing great thanks to the hard work and leadership of thousands of underpaid and underestimated mid level managerial teams and very smart engineers that get no raises despite record profits YOY, while the senior leaders get huge rewards regardless.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mr. Cote, Mr. James, reward your internal talent fairly, with real compensation increases rather than lip service alone. After all, are we not the most valuable resource for Honeywell?

“No question, the single most valuable resource to Honeywell is our Internal Talent. Providing internal opportunities is not an aspiration, it is fundamental to our on-going success.”
    Mark James, SVP, HR Honeywell
