Pros

Open communication and a skiled HR team. The company follows are standardized performance review schedule which is good for feedback.

Cons

The company was acquired by DnB a few years ago and they are going through some transitional pains. If you work well with lots of change, this is a good place.

    Pros

Good pay for what it is.
    Never a dull moment.
    Best product in category.

    Cons

Prepare to get burnt out. Plan on never taking a day off, I see people bring their kids to work in lieu off missing a day. Perform or you are fired. Advice to you is to get in early and work late, volunteer to work weekends, prove yourself and you will be handed a pipeline of larger deals from management. You then can make a nice living that you never have the time to enjoy.

    Advice to Management

No advice, they are under as much pressure as sales. They are being managed by parent company Dun and Bradstreet from an ivory tower in New Jersey. Just don't insult the sales teams intelligence by pretending you "on their side" or are sympathetic in the least. We know pressure is from the top down. Keep spending the money on more innovation to stay competitive not on pizzas.

The parent company, Dun & Bradstreet is doing everything it can to run Hoover's into the ground.

    Pros

There are some really great and talented people at Hoover's. There is a good community culture and it is easy to make friends.

    Cons

The mid and senior management of Hoover's show little interest in helping employees further their careers. Priorities constantly shift from one project to the next and it has a profoundly negative impact on the amount of work that ever actually sees the light of day.

    Advice to Management

Try treating your employees with respect and be clear in your direction. If you want to utilize a leadership program, try actually keeping your one on one appointments instead of constantly rescheduling them. Lead by example.
