Fun job but if the hospital administration doesn't buy into it than it's a dead end.

I worked at Hospital Corporation of America

    Pros

    -Good pay
-Other benefits are very good except the healthcare coverage is self-insured which allows you to only go to "their" facilities unless you want to pay the difference ($$$)
-Opportunities to volunteer within the community

    Cons

If you have a disability don't consider working here. Creating a policy within the department to help is great, but when "management" doesn't follow it and treats the employee as if they're the hostile employee, something is wrong. When individual policies are created per employee while others in the department don't have to follow, something is wrong. Worked my butt off while "lifers" sat around, did virtually nothing, refused to follow processes and got a raise. I saw enough mistreatment of employees to last a lifetime.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would say to hire and promote only those who can "prove" they are good leaders with people and fire the others....not your hard workers. Create a human resources department that protects your employees from hostile management. Follow your own policies and fire management who refuse to follow them especially if they single out employees for "special" policies only they have to follow. Make sure when you do a "misconduct" investigation that you actually interview the accused. Don't "allow" management to make life miserable for those who file WC claims, develop cancer or use FMLA while working there. Follow your own Code of Conduct.
