I worked at Hostess Brands full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people, great products, good leadership (now). Really enjoyed the vast majority of most of the people I worked with and the leadership was focused and creative. I felt like my leadership heard me when I spoke and took my suggestions and observations seriously.

    Cons

history of poor labor management decisions. Company struggled to remain relevant because of poor leadership decisions from the past. Failure to copyright the cupcake squiggle left market imitators free to copy. Bad labor contracts were hard to remove/update. Sense of entitlement from some organized labor elements and divisive input from union locals and other union leadership created very turbulent working environment at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be afraid of collective bargaining agreements, but don't give away the house either.
