    Pros

Great if your young looking to start at a fun paced job.

    Cons

Company bigwigs and some field management use the "youngsters" who have no clue on state laws and ethics to perform at higher levels by means of bullying and intimidation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Revaluate your business and ethics policies

I worked at Hot Topic part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Dress code is non exsistent. Discount is awesome, 40% off on top of sales. Job is one of few retail jobs left that doesn't require you to push strange add on items and services on a customer to keep your job. The music and environment is fun and the company encourages you to have fun at work. If you are in your early teens this is the best job you could have in the mall.

    Cons

Pay is horrid. It's the trade off, if you want to have purple hair and 1000000 tattoos, then you can work here for 1/3 what you would make in any other retail job. No opportunity for advancement. A LOT of entrenched people in happy ruts. Even moving up to a part time key holder can only happen if someone died.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay managers more. Find a way to retain good employees by having more opportunities for advancement.
