I worked at Houston Methodist full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

its a big place and it keeps you busy all the time.

Cons

no matter how great you think you are, the management team will find ways to get you fired once they dont need you. its very political. They have ICARE values that dont exist.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

management is very bad, they can harass you and HR wont even listen to you. Management control everything, it was a very bad experience for me, I wish I never found this place.

    Cons

Management is unethical, uneducated and refuses to follow ICARE guidelines.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat all employees fairly and learn your staff job duties.
Hire Management who knows the business and care about their staff well-being.

Don't Expect to be Paid Fairly Unless Your a Physician or Nurse

I have been working at Houston Methodist full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

If you're a physician, nurse, or allied healthcare, then it's great. Decent benefits, flexible working hours.

    Cons

If you're in a corporate level (non-management) position, you're screwed. Expect to be paid fairly or even receive a cost of living increase - fagitaboutit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Houston Methodist continues to lose people to other facilities mostly because of it's pay structure and refusal to even provide a cost of living increase. Methodist may be "leading medicine", but that's it. They're really not a "best place to work"
