Pay structure is technically "competitive", but not really "competitive"

I have been working at Houston Methodist full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Great culture for the most part. However, it's a little fake and over the top at times.

Cons

Don't expect to get paid what your worth unless you're management, a nurse or a doctor. Pay is not competitive.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Retool the pay structure to allow for better pay for those that receive great promotions from within.

    I worked at Houston Methodist

    Pros

Christian based hospital that stood for Integrity Compassion Accountability Respect Excellence. Patient and employee care was paramount.

    Cons

Methodist has since been bought out by a profit driven company and the Methodist of old is no longer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get back to basics...

I have been working at Houston Methodist full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and salary while working in a true learning environment.

    Cons

The physician organization is punitive of their mid level providers. Very long hours, no overtime pay, no comp time, no call pay and worst if all....no productivity bonuses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Revise your policies regarding productivity bonuses for mid level providers and provide overtime pay for those of us exceeding 50-60 hrs per week. Don't just talk about a positive, supportive culture... Be one.
