Job was really easy, but the heat really drains you. They gave lousy raises.

I have been working at Houston Zoo full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The team that I am a part of is passionate about what we do and our supervisor encourages us to take the reigns for our professional development.
Challenges are unique and fun, and the departments give constructive feedback.
The work environment is positive and has a good balance of professionalism and playfulness.
There are many employees here that believe in the continued growth of the Zoo, for employees and guests alike, and are proactive in making things happen. Being a part of that is really exciting!

    Cons

We are a non-profit organization, which means budgets can be tight for improvements to employee facilities, but we make due with what we have.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rightly invest trust in your talented team and you will not be disappointed.
