I worked at Hudson Advisors

Pros

Benefits are some of the best of any industry and their corporate location and facilities are above average compared to most.

Cons

Poor - and sometime non-existent - communication between senior level and mid level management adversely impacted the Investment Accounting department. Internal hiring policy was inconsistently applied and undercut the effectiveness of managers to plan resources and allocate responsibilities.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The decision to outsource critical HR functions clearly led to numerous communication issues that adversely impacted my position, specifically, and created a poisonous environment of distrust and management ineptitude within the Investment Accounting department.

    Pros

Enjoy the connection with co-workers and the company's way of spending "off time" with their employees through company sponsored events. They are also involved in community volunteer projects, which helps promote team building among the employees.

    Cons

Moving up the corporate ladder is a game of politics. There are "favorites" who get the good projects so they will be praised and promoted, while others who also work hard are not given equal opportunities and are passed by.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Praise those who work well to complete the small details and help the processes run smoothly. Take suggestions for improvements more openly and allow the owner of the suggestion to be part of the process to implement improvements. Be more open about changes in the company and allow employees to be part of the process to help them feel involved and connected to the company.
