Pros

1) Broad-based experience 2) Exposure to senior leaders in other organizations 3) Annual bonus 4) Caring coworkers 5) Travel 6) Catered lunch on presentation days (average of 1 per week)

Cons

1) Lower salary, 2) Long hours at times, 3) Cannot advance to high level without a PhD, 4) Menial tasks at times, 5) Conflicting priorities

Advice to Management

Junior staff needs to be developed more and given more responsibility. Its easy to get lost in projects, particularly high-profile ones but this can sometimes leave junior staff wondering what to do next.

    Pros

A great organization to work for if you are an I-O Psychologist, Psychometrician, or work in the area of testing and evaluation.

    Cons

Promotions take a while to acquire.

    Advice to Management

Please make more training available to your employees so that they can develop their skills.

  2. Not bad place for some PhD psychometricians who enjoy research and stats; no growth for non PhDs

    Doesn't Recommend
    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Flextime and willing to allow telecommuting some days
    Individual offices for each employee
    Collaborative, not competitive atmosphere
    Professional development at conferences
Good for PhDs who are great at stats

    Cons

Lack of developmental opportunities, especially for junior employees
    Promotions are extremely slow
Very bureaucratic for a small organization
    Slow to adapt to change
A dead end for Master's degree holders
A lot of grunt work for very long
Little support during low work periods
Workload inconsistencies = unstable pay Even though you are salaried, you get paid according to billable hours

    Advice to Management

Give junior employees gradually increasing responsibility
Do more to ensure opportunities to apply learning and professional development at work
Create some sort of development plan for non PhDs
