I have been working at Huron Consulting Group full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

The staff includes some bright and committed people, ongoing training is a priority and taken seriously

Cons

Heavy hierarchy of management, everyone is a supervisor, which creates an environment of micro management and overly critical reviews (eg. specific verbiage used on the phone is critiqued). Hard headed management has the "with us or against us" attitude. Good people leave with no counter offer.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reduce the levels of management...teams of 8 don't need 3 supervisors. Stop focusing on 15 min increments of billable time, it creates too much overhead. Treat experienced hires as such, they don't need to trained and monitored like 22 year old recent college graduates.

    Pros

There are a lot of smart people at Huron, some of which can be great teachers. It's a great platform to build strong professional skills early on in your career.

    Cons

Good company culture, but also very very corporate environment, where exceptional work might not be as recognized as it should be and it makes it difficult to have flexible schedules with work life balance.

    Pros

Most employees are happy here. Those that are no leave pretty quickly and do not taint culture

    Cons

The Company's rack rates for services are way too high, which limits opportunities in the marketplace

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change comp structure to lower fixed amount/higher variable components to encourage performance
