I have been working at Hy-Vee part-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

generally treated well, but i know some individuals who have not been treated the same. If you are willing to work hard, you will not have an issue.

Cons

Don't expect to make a lot working here, they don't pay bad for the industry, but the industry does not pay all that well. I did not get along with all the managers at my store, some of the assistant managers seemed power hunger and trying to tell people who do not directly work under them how to do their job.

    I worked at Hy-Vee part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours. They are willing to work around your schedule and let you work approximately as many hours as you are able to. Good for students. Pays decent for a part-time, flexible job.

    Cons

Very monotonous. Sometimes must deal with difficult customers. Career advancement path is not great and if you look to become an assistant manager you will be working a lot of bad hours and every weekend.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Higher pay and more advancement opportunities.
