I have been working at Hyatt full-time (less than an year)

Pros

Easy job, but long hours. there was nothing hard about the job, and the main goal was to provide excellent customer services. They had a health and dental plan as well as savings plans.

Cons

Pay was low, food for employees was unhealthy. Because the ultimate goal of the Hyatt was to maximize profit sometimes they neglected the needs of their employees.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to employees, empower them, and ask them for feed back as far as areas that can be improved

    I worked at Hyatt full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, some really great people, beautiful hotels

    Cons

Some very controlling Executive Managers on property with too much power.
Corporate needs to get more involved with ongoing issues at hotels when they are brought to their attention. Most employees do not trust Human Resources at the hotel because there is no confidentiality (at least not at the property I worked). If the situation is bad enough to be brought to corporate, the employees should expect some support and/or change.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate needs to hear the voices of employees and not rely on top management opinions only - they will tell only what they want you to hear, and it is not always factual. Automatically siding with top management because they run the property does not resolve the problems and you lose good people.
