Current Employee - Administrative Assistant in San Antonio, TX

I have been working at Hyatt full-time (more than a year)

Pros

The pay is great to start in the administrative/business side, they seem to care about their employees, nice perks

Cons

Jobs are always opening and people are always moving around the company but promotion is all about who you know, if you're not hourly they don't care about your work-life balance even though they claim to, pay doesn't seem to equal work in management roles

    Pros

Union!! Great pay, nice people to work with, renovated restaurant makes lots of money! Gym reimbursement, free dry cleaning, free lunch, employee appreciation dinners and luncheons. Workers and management are fun

    Cons

Very physically demanding, parking expensive, and employee locker rooms are outdated. Guests can be overwhelming

I have been working at Hyatt full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Promoteing from within, tuition reimbursement, benefits, comp rooms/discounts, opportunities to move around.

    Cons

Work/life balance, pay, division between full service and select service.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bridge the gap between full service and select service. I made the leap and lost 1week of vacation and a reduction in pay.....that hurt alot since I've worked so hard for that.
