Cosmopolitan, relaxed atmosphere but disorganized (2006, not 2008)

Administrative Assistant (Former Employee)
Montreal, QC (Canada)

I worked at IATA full-time for more than a year

ProsColleagues are from all over the world and generally very motivated. Relatively relaxed atmosphere, great location in downtown Montreal and very nice building. HR is able to fast-track foreign employees and also provide free French classes through the Québec government. Clubs allow for getting to know employees outside of work.

ConsManagement, and senior management especially, was often disorganized and very last minute. Micromanaging on the part of senior managers. Employees come and go - lots of turnover. There's a lack of job security.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease be better organized, consider retaining employees rather than retraining temps, micromanage less and leave it to middle managers.

A mix bag of ups and downs.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at IATA

Pros: Good people to work with. A vast amount of knowledge.… Cons: More work is needed in making viable changes. Changes to benefit the member airlines are happening faster than changes that will benefit and enhance employee conditions.… Advice to Senior Management: Look around the Senior Management Team, when was the last time anyone of them was either let go or… More
