Pros

Life work balance is good! Appropriate processes in place to rate employees and award fair salaries. General information is very well communicated and made accessible on IBM's intranet.

Cons

Matrix organization can be confusing and lots of different groups seem to work on the same thing. It takes a long time to figure this place out and how things are done.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a better plan how to integrate acquired companies from a product portfolio point of view. Be clearer and more prescriptive how competing solutions will be consolidated otherwise people get frustrated and top talent is leaving.

    Not great place for new MBAs to advance quickly. Low raises. Weak career-pathing and feedback process.

    Pros

    Good amount of learning tools, but would require manager's permission to enroll for the same since they are priced, and are available only to those whom the managers like/prefer.

    Cons

    Salary is hopeless, persons with little or no potential or talents get twice the salary as the ones possessing good knowledge and ability.
    Onsite opportunities are available only to a few and that is determined by the managers most of whom are unfit for their position.

    Dismiss 80% of the people managers so that the culture in the organization improves.
