Structured technical career path, lots of choice, make of it what you will.
IBM is a big place, experiences vary across departments; if your department is no good move! :-)

Lots of information and clever people to speak to.

Cons

Big company; highly bureaucratic. People get lost inside IBM and lose their external context; IBM is a great place to work but we need to listen to our customers and act on that information. Simplify!

Many customers think that if you work for IBM you know everyone and all the products; this can be a challenge.

Advice to Senior Management

Listen to our customers and your staff more; make it obvious you are doing this!
