I worked at IBM full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Plenty of exciting technology projects going on. Great research efforts. Great software. Great work/life balance.

Cons

Easy to get lost in a large company. Lost of things going on in the company, but thousands of people trying to get the next opportunity.

Keep listening to your employees.

    I have been working at IBM full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    There are tons of project so you never get bored and never stop learning new things,
    IBM have one excellent technology learning center whit many documentation and courses at your disposal
    Work-life balance is great at IBM

    Cons

    Sometimes there is a bit of bureaucracy when it comes down to paperwork or process
    I think contractors and vendors are not equally treated as regular employees
