I worked at IBM as an intern (less than an year)

Pros

Very good experience, everyone was very friendly and collaborative. Got to work on some pretty interesting things, obtained experience in technologies that would help with getting another job.

Cons

Sometimes not much direction was given in what one should do to tackle a problem (though help was always available)

Keep doing things the way you are! Hire more bright young minds to do work.

As counts just profit per share, employees are treated without respect

    Pros

Still good image and it is good to have in your CV that you worked for this company

    Cons

Low salaries, respectless treatment of employees, even if company is overall seen as a LGBT friendly in fact there is a number of homophobic manegers across the world that know how to influence negativly career of gay people who are out... Fireing best employees on cost of quality of services. An administrative monstrum what means that each employee needs to spend 50% of time on the admin work...Internal tools are crap. What IBM is selling is not used internally.
Agenda 2015 which means that IBM want to achive 20US$ profit per share is causing that talented people are fired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remove power from CFO's who are destroying the company on expense of "savings" whenever they can without considering the damage it is causing

Great company for a self-starter looking for little to no oversight.

I have been working at IBM full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good resources for internal education; plenty of opportunities for networking; opportunities for international work experience

    Cons

Easy to "feel like a number"; frequent travel; working remotely with little to no interaction with clients or coworkers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It seems difficult for IBM's people managers to provide necessary guidance and oversight while tending to regular project responsibilities as well. Management seems overworked and burned out.
