IBM Financial Analyst in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia):   (Current Employee)

Pros

None at all, in fact the only reason why I took the job was the "wow" factor (back then) associated with the IBM name

Cons

- Poor work life balance
- Incompetent management from the top down to the bottom
- New hires were left to sink or swim
- Training for new hires is practically non-existent
- Pay is so bad, that your salary would be outpaced by your peers at other companies in just 2-3 years.
- Employee benefits were among the worse around.
- Taking leave was extremely frowned upon, and people were encouraged to take their laptop with
them and check emails on the road.
- You are supposed to be "on call" even though you aren't paid for it, on a 24-7 basis.

Advice to Senior Management

Get off your backsides, go out of your ivory tower and go down and listen to the troops for a change. And seriously, retrench at least 3 layers of management within the organization, you've got way too many managers there who are screwing up the place and people
