Good place for IT consulting profession

Former Employee - Managing Consultant in Shanghai, Shanghai (China)
Former Employee - Managing Consultant in Shanghai, Shanghai (China)

I worked at IBM full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

You can have chances to join in larger project. IBM has quite good management methodology. The company is managed with mature processes. Generally good colleagues, welfare also ok.

Cons

The role are specifically separated. It's not so easy to shift from role to role. And rather the company tends to look for resources in the market first.

    Pros

Wonderful people, very good benefits, good career support. It is possible to change jobs within the company to expand your career without leaving the company. Mobile workforce allows you the freedom to live anywhere, also great for parents.

    Cons

Large corporate environment with many processes in place, not a great fit for everyone, can limit creativity. Budget cuts also restrict ability to execute. Hours can be very long, need to take ownership of your own work/life balance.
