If you are motivated and have an ability to quickly acquire new skills, you will succeed - if you can survive the travel

Managing Consultant (Current Employee)
Chicago, IL

ProsI had the opportunity to work on international projects, traveling to multiple locations around the world. My level of responsibility grew as I proved my ability to successfully deliver results. I gained experience managing teams and being responsible for project profitability. Co-workers generally intelligent and friendly.

ConsTravel is constant for GBS, so it can be difficult, especially with a family. Sometimes you have to take projects that are not ideal/interesting because of the need for very high utilization (time billable to client).

Advice to Senior ManagementMake it easier to take projects in different sectors - could improve overall utilization and help bring new ideas.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

I have been working at IBM full-time for more than a year

Pros: Job autonomy is probably the best part of this job. Pay is… Cons: Many of the projects are not really "Strategy" and more based around… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company… More

Fine if you survive the offshoring; if you are a US employee, don't expect to

    Business Systems Analyst (Former Employee)
    Boulder, CO

I worked at IBM full-time for more than 10 years

Pros: Good benefits Best for new hires fresh out of college these… Cons: No loyalty to anything but their stock price through at least 2015 10+ years of dedication as a top performer netted little if any raises in… Advice to Senior Management: Top execs, your shameful treatment of loyal employees, offshoring their jobs to anywhere cheaper, all in the name of propping up the stock… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
