Pros

Unless you're one of the executives who are currently draining the company of every dollar possible in order to enrich themselves at any cost - there is not any good reason to work for IBM. That is unless you have absolutely no other alternative.

Cons

No work / life balance. No security. IBM is a dead-end for anyone except the execs that are currently draining the company dry of all it's resources.

Advice to Senior Management

Shame on you.

Boy..I couldn't have said it better myself. Dead on! No regard for any of their workers. Even less regard for their customers. As long as the customers keep paying out, IBM will continue to sneak sub-par service to them.

The results are already showing. The WebSphere appserver accounts are losing renewals of contract. In a short few years the company will be dead. This is an example where bean counting by top execs brings a company to its kneed.

Could not agree more....customers are already starting to see, as the smoke clears, that they are being bamboozled. It was over deliver years ago now its just PE's trying to placate customers after 16 hour outages ( try to get the bangalore group excited if you can) and missed service levels. The execs in this company know the jig is up...and when you see execs that used to be mediocre middle managers in the mainframe plants in the 80's, now execute 11M in stock options at a pop...then get hired back in as consultant when they have just retired to boot ( initials ND maybe) you know its the good ol boys getting while the gettings good.

Do not trust IBM. They will almost certainly not keep any promises they make to you. Look at their actions, not their words, which clearly show they have no regard for their employees (we are NOT employees, we are resources). If I was a customer I would be very concerned if I actually depended on IBM.

What's that "whistling" noise? Oh yeah... it's the sound of American jobs being sucked away by IBM. Look like there's one person who disagrees. Sam, is that you?

"Sam, is that you?"

Of COURSE it's Sam, or one of his minions who are paid to post lies about IBM here and elsewhere. ANYone with a brain knows the truth, and the apologists and trolls and management plants do NOT tell the truth, either at IBM to the poor remaining 28% U.S. employees or on these boards.

Employees -- you know the drill.

Anyone with a brain -- look elsewhere for a job.
