I have been working at IBM full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Flexibility of work schedule and location. Good benefits and mobility within the company.

Cons

Seems to be lacking direction as a company... tracking only to EPS (earning per share) for 2015.

    Pros

Great work, good people, interesting markets, good brand

    Cons

Anything related to HR organization- the core salary and benefits and career opportunities are good, but what you see is what you get, and any change will be full of frustration. Its sad that the time when most people leave is right after they get told about their raises- even the people who get them are almost always disappointed. the vote an employee gets at IBM is with their feet.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat employees like assets, not liabilities

I have been working at IBM full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The pre-sales team at the time was great as we sold SDLC solutions to medical device, pharma and telecommunications companies

    Cons

Pressure, like most public companies, causes trade-offs between short-term sales and longer term positive change to the client. That's where continuity of revenue comes from, after you can really partner with the client. This advice comes from a Client Executive Unit Director.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a longer term view of each client, measuring Client Exec coverage by their full representation of all brands covered, to fully leverage IBM's invested acquisitions and brands. Otherwise, Client Execs select just enough to suit their narrower goals, while the client and IBM miss their potential.
