I have been working at IBM full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Opportunities for Growth without relocating, Job security, Large facility with decent amenities.

    Cons

Too much focus on profitability via cost cutting the last few years. Morale since 2010. More limits on ability to move around company since 2011.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop focusing on increasing earnings per share via cost cutting, focus on funding innovation even if it takes a year or two to pay-out.

I worked at IBM full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Decent salary. Hiring process was easy, too easy. Job didn't turn out to be as described, product was deficient, sales materials were poor.

    Cons

Management doesn't have a clue how to motivate. Leadership is lacking. Old guard is only concerned with keeping their job, not in advancing yours. Every time you need a support resource the finger pointing starts. Managers preside over individuals who know far more than their managers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need better evaluations of old managers who aren't productive and can't mentor.
