I have been working at IBM

Pros

The work is always different, and the oppuritunity to work across multiple disciplines.
The availablity of information, from marketing talking points to low-level technical details is excellent.
An extraordinary amount of freedom to solve customer problems

Cons

Travel is required at times, in the present air travel 'experience' this is a bit of a hassle.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I work too darn low in the food chain to be able to even think of any advice to give to Senior Management. As long as they do not interfere with my ability to do the work I am a happy camper.

The grass is probably less brown at IBM than at many other companies.

I have been working at IBM

    Pros

Availability of information resources to help me do my job better.

    Cons

Politically correct (PC) version of diversity that lets "respect for the diversity group" trump "respect for the individual." I know of Christians who hold Bible studies on IBM property but who are very careful about advertising their participation. I know of people who would like to speak objectively about the gay agenda but can't for fear of being branded homophobes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on developing business value instead of just managing costs. Work on a shift toward neutrality with respect to the gay agenda as a way of fostering diversity.
