Pros

Flexibility in scheduling, and the ability to telecommute. Benefits are about average and the staff are generally well educated and friendly.

Cons

Communication with management is not satisfactory, and communication between departments is nearly non-existent. Compensation is below average and turnover is quite high.

Good place to start, but don't make it a career

    I worked at ICAT

    Pros

It's a fine place to start working if you're new to the business. Most people working there are friendly and generally helpful.

    Cons

Overworked and underpaid. Promotions and advancement given to women over men (in general). Definitely a place where kissing-up to management is more important than performance. Lack of communication to employees when things change. Management seems more about comrodery between other managers, rather than with employees. High turnover, too.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on people and less on strict HR-based rules. Focus more on collaboration between departments, breaking up the clique-ish atmosphere.

I worked at ICAT full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

IT is professional, tools are up to date

    Cons

Underwriting Services Manager title has little to do with actual position duties. Upward mobility is virtually non-existent with the exception of title-only promotions. The financial demise of the company is pervasive in day-to-day atmosphere. Management is uninterested in employee input, despite bells and whistles of HR theatrics for employee morale. Clique-intensive environment. Very high turnover.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Using thin margins to justify HR decisions is not helpful to morale.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
