I have been working at IFC full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Great place to start your career. If you are fortunate enough to be mentored by a superior in the organization, you will learn a lot. Travel

Cons

Slow promotion and little emphasis or practice of professional development in place.

Advice to Management

Great job but some suggestions: 1.) Review need for wide use of hiring freeze. 2.) Focus on employee satisfaction 3.) Official mentorship programs and developing junior staff with the intention of promotion

People don't seem to stay for very long; it doesn't seem like a very communal working environment

I have been working at IFC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Amazing people to work with, lots of opportunity to do new and different things in the organization.

    Cons

Not the place you want to be if you want to move up quickly; you'll move slower here than if you were in a government job. Promotions are about who you know and time in service, not about performance.

    Advice to Management

Pay people for what they do, not for how long they have been in the organization.
