I worked at IFDS

Pros

Work is interesting, challenging and evolving all the time. There is also ample opportunities to be part of other teams and work on different projects

Cons

There are not many. One probably is that the research and development sometimes becomes too abstract and this can lead to a lot of time being wasted

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The job satisfaction factor is really high. Also the team is wonderful and does a good job at making you fee wanted and at home. Hopefully they can maintain this.

I have been working at IFDS

    Pros

good place to start if you are fresh out of university or school
some internship opportunities, some student jobs in the transfer agency mostly on part time/ temporary basis
not a lot of workload most of the times
you may get a chance to move into other sister organizations such as DST or state street etc.
its downtown toronto, right in the financial district, so good opportunity to browse around and look for your options

    Cons

not much professional growth or not much to learn. career development is minimum
management is stingy and dosn't like to spend on equipments needed for employees
health plan is the only advantage left now and it is becoming more and more expensive by the year, which is actually stealing from the employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

look after your folks, dont be stingy pay them well, dont hold back on salary increments etc.
