I have been working at IHOP part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good initial hiring practices. Very Clean retaurant

    Cons

Awkward training program. I was sent home my third shift in the door for not having ( in the shift managers opinion)non slip shoes. Isn't there a legal grace period (covering employer) in which to allow for purchase? Most NEW employees need a first check to come in before we can afford uniform additions.....at our own cost.....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Add a POS system abbreviation menu to help train new cooks. I can study the menu for days, however, it all becomes greek when you are expected to read AND UNDERSTAND abbreviations while the shift supervisor is standing behind you demanding to know how many pancakes and of which type are needed in the middle of a rush....during your second night of work.....and I all I can see is LOTS of unfamiliar acronyms:(

I have been working at IHOP part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Day Shift is easier to get than most jobs
Can make over $10 an hour after tips

    Cons

    Stressful
    Income is not fixed
Employee Meals are forced, requiring you to spend nearly 60 cents an hour. It does not matter if you eat or not.
After taxes and employee meals, the checks will be between 0 and 40 dollars for 60 hours of work.
