Current Employee – been working at ING Direct
Pros – Again, the work life balance is good. The benefits are good. There is opportunity to learn a lot, but after that you have to move on if you want to make any money. Great cu.lture, although it is changing.
Cons – A ton of people who get paid to do nothing. There are absolutely no ramifications for doing a poor job unless (so I hear) you work in mortgage or sales. Very much an old boys club. Very middle management heavy.
Advice to Senior Management – Take a step back and look at the dead weight. You want to save money, do things the right way. Performance manage. There are people there who treat their collegues terribly - not very orange. As far as AK goes, I think he's a fabulous figure head and has the right message but I think it would be scary to work for him directly. There is a lot of babying that goes on to the SMC. As long as they don't know or are appeased seems to be the MO.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
