I worked at IRS as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

I received work assignments to write memorandums which honed my research and writing skills and gained more insight into tax issues

    Cons

The people in the St. Louis office are a bit standoffish and uninterested in helping legal interns

  2.

    Boring, stable, bring music

I worked at IRS full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

You can listen to music. The work's predictable- 1040s all night, rarely any difficult surprises. Coworkers were almost all interesting, good people.

    Cons

Pretty much the most boring job ever- 1040s all night, 1 after another post training. Training takes forever- only a problem since you're on abbreviated schedule. Exceeding standards is not rewarded. Once you're in, you will not be let go as a seasonal employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Temps do not need to be trained in everything permanent employees are. Reward exceptional results.
