Idaho Power Energy Services Representative in Boise, ID:   (Past Employee - 2006)

Pros

Considering the state of Idaho, Idaho Power is one of the best employers with great benefits. They touch most of southern Idaho so there are a number of locations to work at. The have several sides - electricity supply and generation so there are a number of areas to either start in and/or move to. Has the feel of a large family work environment.

Cons

Many of the positions are internal and you work in a cubicle. Good pay for Idaho, but not a lot of upside potential. Like anywhere, there are a few supervisors that don't know as much as they should about what their employees really do and challenges they really face. A lot of advancements based on who you know and who you hang with.

Advice to Senior Management

More advancements based on proven work skills and/or background rather than being part of the club.
