Illinois Army National Guard Employee Review

Current Employee – been working at Illinois Army National Guard full-time for more than 10 years

Pros – It has all the benefits of active army without the pick up and move every 2-3 years. You still have a connection with community since it is the national guard. In addition you can be called out for state emergencies which is really rewarding missions since it is the people you live with you are helping

Cons – You end up working more weekends than you would on an active duty post. You don't have easy access to commissary or medical treatment facilities

Advice to Senior Management – Big Army needs to remember there are not as many training days available for the traditional Soldier to train.
