    Pros

    Well paid for a PhD position. Work with intelligent people. Access to good research facilities. Free health club membership. Good location (South Kensington, London).

    Cons

    The work involved long hours, including several overnight working stints. The university is a high pressure environment and you have to work hard to keep up.
