I worked at InContact

Pros

Innovative company
Interesting niche
Leading edge technology
Always had new things in the pipeline
The chance to work on some very challenging and interesting products

Cons

Management was always distracted by the newest "shiny" thing
People were quietly fired and nobody knew they were even gone
Trying to be too much to too many
Lack of upward career mobility
Tendency to get "typecast" onto projects or technologies

Advice to ManagementAdvice

inContact (formerly UCN) needs to specialize in a few products and do them very well rather than being fragmented on several products and getting it out the door just for the sake of the product hitting the market.

Overall, good potential for technology and financial responsibility. Poor in the area of hiring on-shore, local workers to promote the U.S. getting back on its feet rather than sending U.S. dollars to other countries for cheap labor - very disappointing.

    Pros

Great focus on improving technology and products. Sales and Marketing teams are great. Never a dull moment. inContact is winning the battle and it's always fun to be on the winning team.

    Cons

inContact has allowed bureaucracy to take over their processes and, unless they get a handle on it, will ultimately cause their downfall.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to manage regulations rather than allowing them to manage you.

I have been working at InContact

    Pros

There a lot of smart and capable people that work at inContact (formerly UCN). I found most days to be filled with challenges and opportunities to grow as an individual. Just about every day on the job I learned something new. Work schedule is pretty flexible.

    Cons

Management has a tendency to drink the kool-aid. While the company is growing, there are times they act as if they are invincible and as if they could do no wrong. The company has a weak 401k matching program, and switched to an ATO system for time off, so if you leave the company and have time off left over, you don't get a pay out for that time remaining.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company is pretty frugal and it shows in the pay that people receive. Management says that they want to work towards being the best place to work in Utah, but it's not followed through with.
