I have been working at InContact full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Never a dull moment. inContact is continuously challenging the status quo in an effort to improve products and processes. If you enjoy working hard and making a difference this is a good company to join. Really great team members; lots of passion.

Cons

Passion goes both ways...sometimes feels a little schizophrenic and out of control.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company is moving in the right direction; however momentum is lost by changing course too often. Don't make changes just for the sake of changing. Say what you mean and mean what you say.

I have been working at InContact full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There is a lot of opportunities to contribute skills to improve the offering. The challenge is finding a way to help the executives see why what you have to offer is necessary to generate sales.

    Cons

Not the biggest fan of my hiring manager. Company culture is to develop employees toward their goals, but I feel like my manager is pigeon-holing me.

Telcom masquerading as a software company

    I worked at InContact

    Pros

inContact/UCN is a growing company with a promising future where there are opportunities for growth and a sincere desire to find and retain talent.

    Cons

inContact/UCN is a telcom masquerading as a software company. As such, the leadership doesn't quite understand yet how to run a software company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

inContact/UCN has very strong entry-level to mid-level employees. Unfortunately, poor hiring decisions with regard to hiring upper to executive level management has resulted in the loss of very qualified employees who (if retained) would have been ripe for future promotional opportunities. Stop trying to hire upper/executive managers that look good on paper, but are horrible to work with/for. Instead, hire upper/executive managers that know how to cultivate, retain, and groom the rock stars you already have on the payroll. While you've already lost many of your future leaders, there are still many talented people within the company that deserve competent mentors.
