Pros

The expense at Bloomington is low compare to other cities. Indiana University has beautiful campus. Colleagues at my department are very nice and easy to work with.

Cons

It is a quite city. Life is not entertaining. Researcher position has limited professional advancement opportunities compared to a faculty position.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The leadership should pay more attention to the professional develop of individual empoyees. The salary of support staff should be increased.

    I have been working at Indiana University

    Pros

    Reasonable pay as a graduate student,
    Not too busy,
    Really can learn a lot not covered in class,
    Professors are friendly.

    Cons

    Bad working place: office without a window;
    No individual computer provided;
    Some tasks are stupid;
    It's a pain to teach undergrads here

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Improve the computing facilities in labs;
    Give those good rooms to your graduate students, not some meaningless groups;
    Increase the pay when you increase the tuition
