Current Employee – been working at Indus Valley Partners full-time for less than a year
Pros – I started working for the company recently and so far its been a great, positive experience. The onsite working atmosphere is comfortable. Employees are not micromanaged which is always a plus. You can come in as early, or leave as late as long as you put in your 8 hours. You can go for lunch whenever, as you are not tracked when you go or for how long you go.
Training includes learning about the financial industry and the mysterious world of hedge funds which is definitely interesting (if you're into that). I got placed on a project within the first month, and they ensure that you are prepared before you begin.
Company wide meetings are enjoyable as they create a relaxed environment and a time to socialize with your coworkers. The directors/management can also be very sociable.
The company is located right on Herald Square so its a great area for lunch time to eat outside.
Salary was good for me as this was my first permanent role. For me, it was a great place to start my career. Especially if you're looking to get into the finance industry. Also, exposure to different clients can prove to be an advantage.
From what I learned so far, IVP aims to set itself apart from other companies by recruiting employees who have diverse backgrounds in IT, Finance, and Business resulting in effective client relationships, a decrease in miscommunication, and efficient workflows.
Cons – Salary is paid monthly which I find weird, but you'll just have to learn to budget your income. I wish it could be changed to bi-weekly though.
Initial general training seemed a bit unorganized, and a few trainers were not effective teachers so choosing who the trainers are and how/what they teach will have an effect on the learning curve for new employees.
Advice to Senior Management – Create a survey where employees can voice their general opinions/suggestions.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
