Current Employee - Sales in Maidenhead, England (UK)

I have been working at Informatica full-time

Pros

Ambitious: Want to be a $3 Billion Dollar Company
Relaxed atmosphere
Directors approachable, Door open policy.
Work/Life balance right. Rarely work long hours.
Sports and Social Club
C Level, very communicative.
Plenty of training
Excellent product.

Cons

Company has been successful and has led to them carrying some 'dead weight'. Often wonder 'what that person actually does in their job?'
Some Departments/People haven not changed in the past 5/10 years, no drive for them to change despite the company moving forward.
Departments need to be more streamlined, too many .
Only career opportunities when the company is doing well.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Review all staff, see what they actually do and don't wait until Informatica have a wobble again.

    Pros

You have liberty to work on anything you choose
    Very nice people
Average salary better then many companies in Bangalore
    Work life balance..
Very good management at RWC, great vision.. Great product..

    Cons

Management recruits only their known people ex IT in Bangalore is getting filled with known resources to the boss or back door entry . Majority of the IT managers are from one previous company where IT director worked.
Lots of politics (yes exists everywhere ;-) but this is getting too much
People are hardly recognised for their talent/expertise
Slowly slipping from one great environment to below average environment
People are frequently asked to leave and their position is filled with known resources/contractors

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk less and do more particularly valid to IT Management. Deliver what company needs.
