Infosys Employee Review
Infosys – “The opporunities available are fantastic...getting them is a different matter.”

There are many excellent opportunities available in terms of variety of projects and client interaction.
Cons
It's very difficult to get on a project unless you have networked with senior staff which is pretty much impossible at a junior level.
Promotions are rarely issued, the company prefers to hire employees from other organisations to fill these roles meaning there is no incentive for existing employees to give 110%.
The appraisal cycle does not reward achivement but rather focusses on number of years in the company and how much your manager likes you - if you don't work with your manager (which is common) then you have no chance of promotion.
The training at Infosys is non-existant. You are forced to do mandatory exams every year - failure of which will result in no promotion. No training is provided to pass these exams, you have to rely on your ability to read through a powerpoint presentation and remember what was in it. These exams do not represent skill but your ability to remember word for word paragraphs in presentations.
Advice to Senior Management
Revise the appraisal cycle, you need to motivate your employees and not expect them to dedicate their lives to Infosys without reward or recognition. Infosys has a short sighted approach to their employees and it is forcing good people to resign so they can find better opportunities. As a result, the poor performers are staying in Infosys and are being promoted purely for spending years in the company. If you want the company to develop and build a good reputation for quality you need to remove the poor performers and reward the high achievers.
