Ingenix – “Process Engineer at Valeron Strength Films

Aug 5, 2009

1.0

Ingenix Process Engineer in Houston, TX:   (Past Employee - 2007)

Pros

The best reason to work here might be to learn about blown film and lamination by getting thrown in to a manufacturing environment. Also, the hourly workers are very unhappy and ready to unionize and revolt, so that adds to the challenge.

Cons

The management has been horrible for a number of years. There is a racial (black vs. white, old vs. young) discrimination problem among hourly manufacturing employees. They have settled at least one lawsuit to this effect in recent years. ITW (the parent company) demonstrates good judgement, but they tend to let Valeron general managers create a hostile work environment.

Advice to Senior Management

A cultural change is needed. Most likely the film products produced at Valeron will be replaced on the market with better materials and Valeron will lose market share and cease to exist.
