A good learning experience

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Santa Ana, CA

Pros1. High average tenure of associates, promotes from within (at the mid/senior level)
2. Collegial atmosphere
3. Being the largest in any vertical commands respect
4. Takes some risk, allows fresh ideas (to some extent), not completely risk averse

Cons1. Incompetent IS (IT) organization
2. Extremely low margin business, cost control is a must
3. Red tape, unnecessarily processes

Advice to Senior ManagementFix the IS organization. World's largest IT distributor deserves a better IT orgranization. Invest in high margin adjacencies, make the organization more metric-driven. Focus on a better value proposition (after all IM is not just box pushers) that utlimately deserves higher margin.
