I have been working at Inova full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Culture/Co-workers are great to work w/
Vast exposure if desired
Many opportunities due to the size of system
Great healthcare plans

Cons

Environment of health care...
Compensation - hard to get decent promotions so negotiate big when being hired or plan on jumping from job to job
Fire drill scenarios that don't result in an end-gain

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop recruiting folks from outside the healthcare environment, and compensating them more than the current employees in that same job - those current employees are the ones who end up training the newbies which undoubtedly adds to the frustation

    I have been working at Inova full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great culture at the Fair Oaks Hospital; each hospital has a different culture.

    Cons

    Top talent is not selected for advancement. Not sure how the people with some leadership positions are actually still in those positions while good people have left because of that.

    During department rounding ask the employees what is going well and what are the daily frustrations.
