Great while single, not so much when you start having a family

    Pros

    - Great coworkers. Training in Engineering encourages employees to learn and teach and expand their knowledge. and Inovalon does invest in their engineering team.
    - Pay is decent. Bonus pool depends on company performance ( as it should be). This year the company has been very generous with the bonuses and raises.
    - This company has done a lot to improve the overall processes to make Inovalon a better place to work. It's not the best place, but its definitely not the worst.

    Cons

    - No Maternity leave and medical insurance for a family is way too high. Great when you are single and paying for yourself but don't expect to support your SO. They have FMLA and they pay for STD which covers only 60% of your pay and only 6 weeks. So basically if you are a woman, try making it back to work the day after delivery. Taking FMLA effects everything from senority, retirement to benefits and medical insurance. a month of Paid maternity leave may help attract more talent. Since let's face it we are having a hard time filling in positions with quality people.
    - Invest in your business team as much as the Engineering.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Experienced people will have families. And some of them will be great workers. Making Inovalon attractive to them helps a lot in employee retention.
    - Slacken the dress code for engineering. A lot of productive software engineering companies have relaxed dress code.

I have been working at Inovalon full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I have learned a great deal from a very few. They have given some benefits but that was fueled by the 2014 ruling that you have to offer your employees insurance.

    Cons

Most of the "leads" and about half of the Quality Manager have no real management skills so they manage by intimidation to avoid being closely looked at themselves. The new QAT Team is a joke and the managers running it are NOT experts in their areas. Very dismal place to work!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management by threats and intimidation only causes turnover. Try developing true "Core Values" and your people will embrace you.
