I have been working at Inria

    Pros

Inria offers many opportunities to people who want to improve their skills in development and research. There are dozens of research teams and each of them has different characteristics. It means you may get the best supervision or may end up with no guidance depending on the team. The best reason to work at Inria i guess, is the flexibility. Everyone is respectful to the ideas and all the contributions are welcome. There is not so much pressure on people. Work-life balance is really good.

    Cons

-If you are a software engineer, you can not work there more than 2 years. It is not a secure job.
-Pay is so-so if it is your first job. Pay is bad if you have prior experince.
-HR does not support the needs of employees. They even do not orient you to the institute. Inria also does not pay relocation. You need to deal with all the paper work in France all alone, health insurance, residence permit, no orientation.
-If you do not speak French, you are a bit excluded(depending on the team)
-All the mails from management are still in French.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give some guidance for new comers.
    Increase the pay scale.
Enable people work more than 2 years.
Write documents in English and in French.
