I have been working at Insperity full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Good volunteer time, PTO and benefits. Great people to work with (co-workers).

Cons

Some people in management do not trust their employees and try to micro-manage without having probable cause. The company thrives on mutual respect however it seems that this doesn't apply to managers. Insperity promotes opportunity for growth but this isn't necessarily true. Also, work-life balance does not apply to all departments.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen and trust your employees. There is no such thing as a stupid question or comment. Don't see people as negative when they provide you with feedback. It's just an opinion that should be taken as constructive criticism. Also, don't promote people whi cannot communicate with their team or teams.

I have been working at Insperity

    Pros

-work life balance, amount of PTO
    -friendly employees
    -concern for the customers' well-being
-training program for new hires is well-developed
-process oriented for those who like processes
-strong CRM system when properly used

    Cons

-insular thinking at all levels of management
    -no opportunity for innovation
-salary half that of industry average in most markets
-HR minimally involved in daily happenings, strange for an HR company
-not a good place to "come from" when entering the job market. No one knows who you are
-not a sustainable business model for the future, upper management fighting healthcare reform as selling health benefits is the only real value proposition for their customers.
Few opportunities for autonomous decision-making which means the non-thinkers love it and the thinking employees move to other companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The employee tenure creates a stagnant organization where new ideas and new perspectives are seen as trouble makers instead of innovators. Your HR organization is ineffective at trainnig and developing people. The culture is rule-ridden and compliance-driven. If you want true consultants, hire and retain people who think and act independantly.

I have been working at Insperity

    Pros

Great culture. Insperity takes care of their own. Easy to move between departments/positions if desire. Fun place to work. Makes work, life, balance easy to maintain.

    Cons

Hard to get considered for am available position if you don't already work for Insperity or you aren't related to someone who works for Insperity. While the overall compensation is good, the pay is on the lower end of the range for a specific position.
